Private Boat Lessons in West Palm Beach & Palm Beach
Why Should I Take Boating Lessons?
Build your confidence operating a boat. By getting hands on boating instruction by a qualified captain, you are investing in the safety of yourself and your passengers. Get over your fear of going new places. Overwhelmed by the thought of pulling up to a dock of a restaurant, or the sandbar full of boats and having to maneuver between boats? A captain can teach you the skills to master docking, anchoring and maneuvering around other boats. Captain Rick is based in South Florida and New York / Long Island. Travel available. Lessons are private, on-the-water, and built around the docks and waterways you actually use. We also teach boaters in West Palm Beach, Riviera Beach and Singer Island, on your own boat at your dock or marina.

Palm Beach lessons stay on your boat and focus on the waterways you actually run: the Intracoastal, Lake Worth Lagoon approaches, Palm Beach Inlet traffic, and the tight residential and restaurant docks common from Palm Beach through nearby Lake Worth and Singer Island. Wind, current, and weekend congestion change the docking picture here, so we practice slow approaches, spring lines, and calm departures in the conditions you meet on your home docks—not a generic classroom drill.
Captain Rick is based in South Florida most of the year, with New York classes by monthly visit. Travel within Palm Beach County is normal for Boat Lessons; the Boca Suite 161 address is mail-only, not where the lesson happens.
The Florida boat lessons hub can help you compare nearby context, including Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Jupiter; for a more structured format, review boat courses and boat lessons and the Boat Lessons FAQ. When you are ready to talk through your boat, marina, and goals, contact Boat Lessons.
