Private Docking Lessons on Your Boat

Learn to leave the dock, control the boat in tight water, and come back calmly — on your boat, at your marina. Call/text 718-956-5000 · Rick@boatlessons.com

Who this is for

Looking for docking lessons near me in South Florida? This page is for new owners, first-time boaters who want boat lessons for beginners focused on the dock, mariners who get tense in tight slips, and skippers who want cleaner close-quarters control in wind and current.

Lessons are private and on the water—on your boat or ours—at your marina, residential dock, or an agreed meeting point from Miami to Stuart (New York / Long Island home base also available; travel by arrangement). You get wheel time next to Captain Rick, not a packed group ride.

How a lesson runs

  1. Safety check at your slip.
  2. Leave the dock — slow is pro.
  3. Practice drills in a quiet basin.
  4. Repeat real approaches until natural.
Private, hands-on lessons with Captain Rick, certified Master Instructor and USCG 100-Ton Master.
